Style Hack: The Front Knot

The knot tutorial you all have been asking for is finally here! <3 We have had so many girls ask us how to do this knot that we have added to a few of our tees & tanks. It is the perfect way to add some personality to your everyday top or really freshen up your casual errand-running look.

Step 1

This is probably one of the most important steps!! You’ll want enough fabric to make the initial knot. It is important that you make sure & grab enough fabric to be able to pull it slightly forward.

Step 2

Grab approximately a 4-6″ section of the tee & pull it forward while still holding onto the base with your other hand.

Step 3

Now, with your right hand take the tip of the section you pulled forward & wrap it around your pointer finger & your middle finger, making a circle.

Step 4

After you make that circle, pull the tip of that section wrapped around your fingers through the hole about 1-2″.

Step 5

Then just tighten the knot by pulling on the tip of that section to make sure it doesn’t come loose. 🙂

Step 6

This part is optional, but I like to take the sides of the tee that come into the knot (where my hands are pictured below) and pull on it a little bit so that the shirt isn’t as tense/taut. That way it allows the shirt to be a little looser while still adding some definition to your midsection where the knot is. If the tip of your shirt sticks out too much from your knot, you can pull on the sides of your shirt again, or just simply tuck the tip back in a little more.

Here is the final result! I love this little trick, especially with some of my oversized tops that I wear out running errands & it’s also great to spice up a floral tee! A lot of gals also use it to take off some length of a tee if you are a little shorter. PS: This knot also looks super cute on the side or the back of the tee as well! There is really no science to it, it’s just all about where it works for your frame and style! <3
